How to fit SnoozeShade for Infant Carriers Deluxe
Product description
Fitting & safety

How does it work? SnoozeShade creates a comfortingly dark space that encourages naps by boosting melatonin (the sleepy hormone). When your baby naturally stirs at the end of their sleep cycle, our unique fabric prevents them from latching on to visual stimuli that may stop them getting a deeper, longer nap. This car-seat canopy can be used in snooze mode or shade mode, both of which offer UV protection.

Many parents say SnoozeShade deters people from uninvitedly touching their baby, which can be a worry before they’ve had their immunizations. We’ve added a ‘please don’t touch’ label to the front as an extra deterrent!

What's the snooze mode? When you want to completely shade your baby or encourage sleep, fasten both the inner and outer panels of your SnoozeShade. The fabric blocks 97.5% of UV and 94% of light, while also blurring distractions and removing visual stimuli to help babies switch off. The sneak-a-peek zip allows you to check on them without letting in light.

What's the shade mode? When baby is awake, you can use your SnoozeShade as a car-seat sunshade by tucking the snooze panel into the integrated pocket. This reveals a single-layer mesh window that blocks 80% of UV, but allows your baby to see out. You can't see clearly through it from outside (which means the sun can't either!), but you can open the two-way zip either partially or fully for a clearer view of your baby. The shade panel can also be tucked away in the integrated front pocket if you’re not using it.

When in shade mode, your baby is still fully protected overhead and at the back and sides by a double layer of mesh that blocks 97.5% of UV (UPF 40+).

Why should I keep my baby out of the sun? Doctors state that babies under six months must be kept completely out of direct sunlight. Their skin is too sensitive for sunscreen and contains very little melanin, so they burn easily. The Skin Cancer Foundation says incidents of sunburn during childhood multiply the risk of one day developing skin cancer. SnoozeShade is the ONLY infant car-seat canopy approved by the Melanoma International Foundation.

Will SnoozeShade help my baby nap? SnoozeShade is recommended by baby-sleep experts because it works like a portable blackout blind, creating a sleep-friendly space and acting as a cue for naptime. Daytime naps reduce cortisol levels, which helps babies fall asleep more easily at night – good news for everyone!

SnoozeShade also makes it easier to transfer baby from the car without waking them, because they’re not startled by a sudden change in light or temperature. If you’re traveling at night, it can help your baby sleep by blocking out bright lights.

What age is it for? SnoozeShade can be used from birth until your baby outgrows the car seat, usually at around nine months.

Is it machine-washable? Of course – it was invented by a mom! All SnoozeShades are machine washable at 30° and can be tumble-dried on low heat.

Will it fit my car seat? This SnoozeShade will fit any Group 0 or 0+ infant car seat with a rigid carry handle. It has been tried and tested on popular infant carriers by Maxi-Cosi, Cosatto, Graco, Chicco, Britax, Doona, Concord and more.

How does it attach to my car seat? SnoozeShade’s soft mesh, elasticated sides, stretchy straps, and baby-safe snaps make it super easy to attach in seconds – even with one hand!

  1. If your car seat has an integrated hood, push it all the way back.
  2. Make sure the handle is in the upright position and attach the two top straps around it using our baby-safe snaps.
  3. Pull the elasticated edges of the SnoozeShade over the front and back of your car seat.

Do I need to leave SnoozeShade on my car seat? Many parents do leave it installed. It’s easy to lift your baby in and out through the front panel, and you can still carry the car seat by its handle with SnoozeShade in place. If you prefer to remove it, SnoozeShade packs down into a compact storage bag, included free with every order.

Why SnoozeShade is safe: SnoozeShade was invented by Cara Sayer – a safety-obsessed British mom who wanted to help her daughter sleep soundly and stay protected from the sun while in her pushchair.

Unlike a blanket or muslin, our scientifically tested fabric is air permeable, which means air passes through it freely both indoors and outdoors. Hold a SnoozeShade up to your face, and you’ll find you can breathe comfortably.

All our products are tested to and exceed required US safety standards. Our fabric is not chemically treated and every component is safe enough for a newborn, including our zippers, straps, and snaps (the world’s only certified baby-safe snaps).

You can also buy SnoozeShade on Amazon so, if you prefer, you can get free Prime delivery or have it shipped worldwide using your Amazon account.

Love This!

My husband and I use this Al the time on our babys car seat when we are out. It provides great protection to our baby from the sun and attaches very easily. There is a zippered part above the larger zipper/snap area where we able to attach and zip out fan into for our baby. Its very easy to put on and take off and is easy to wash. Id highly recommend it.

It gets too hot in the stroller with the snooze shade on.

Hi Naomi
Thank you so much for you review.
All of our products are made of a scientifically proven highly air-permeable mesh.
This means air (hot or cold) moves through it easily. Hot air needs to move up and it can do so easily through the fabric.
As a general rule it’s either the same temperature under the shade or one or two degrees cooler.
Please do get in touch if you would like further information regarding heat concerns.
Best wishes

Convenient

This has saved my little for from random people trying to touch him or stick their face into his. It's also grate for shade from the sun but does get pretty warm inside for the baby. When it's nap time it definitely helps keep the sun out of my babys eyes and allows him to rest.

Top 10 baby product

I have the pack and play cover and the bigger stroller cover and used them all the time with my first. For my second baby I got this since more naps will have to be on the go and its a life saver! Add some white noise and were golden. Definitely helpful and great quality. One of the top 10 best baby purchases. Love this company.

Pretty good

I love the coverage and different closure options. I have a Graco Modes car seat and the only issue is a small gap on the sides where the cover isnt long enough. Not a big issue since its so low it doesnt allow direct sunlight on baby.
